Frequently Asked Questions over Stainless Steel Cherry Stoner

How does a stainless steel cherry pitter work?

Place the cherry in the round holder and gently squeeze the handles together. The pin pushes the pit out of the fruit, so you can quickly use the cherry for a snack, pie, jam, or dessert.

Can I also use this cherry pitter for olives?

The pitter is designed for cherries. An olive of a similar size may sometimes fit, but this is not guaranteed for every variety. Therefore, please check that the fruit is sitting stably in the holder.

Does the cherry remain whole after pitting?

The cherry pitter makes a small opening to push out the pit. The fruit remains largely intact, which is useful for garnishing, baking, and preserving.

How do I prevent splashing when pitting cherries?

Work with gentle, even pressure and hold the pitter low over a bowl or cutting board. Rinse the tool immediately, as cherry juice is more difficult to remove once it has dried.

Can the stainless steel cherry pitter go in the dishwasher?

Yes, the cherry pitter is dishwasher safe. Open the squeezing mechanism as much as possible during cleaning so that water can properly reach all contact points.
