How full should I fill the bean hopper?

Preferably, do not fill the storage canister completely. Add just enough beans for a period of one to two weeks so that you are always using freshly roasted coffee. Beans that remain in a large quantity for weeks will lose their aroma more quickly due to exposure to air and light, even in an airtight canister.

Can I put caramelized or flavored coffee beans in the storage canister?

That is discouraged. Beans that have been roasted with sugar or contain flavoring oils are extremely sticky and leave a gummy residue in the canister. This is difficult to clean and can even damage the grinding mechanism of a coffee grinder. It is better to store such beans in their original packaging.

Why does the inside of the storage container become greasy?
